Proudly supporting Truck Run 4 Katie and Pieta House

Wright Insurance Brokers is proud to support some wonderful causes, and just recently, we had the opportunity to support two charitable entities close to the heart of many in the Transport and Haulage industry. And, of course, honour the memory of Katie Drennan and Kevin O’Donovan.

Truck Run 4 Katie

€1,000 was donated to Truck Run 4 Katie as part of an ongoing commitment to support this charity. Truck Run 4 Katie is an established fundraiser for Cystic Fibrosis, set up in memory of Katie Drennan, daughter of Spa Transport owner Eugene Drennan who sadly died in 2015, aged 24. Katie worked tirelessly campaigning for better services for Cystic Fibrosis patients attending the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Unit in University Hospital Limerick. The monies raised from the fundraiser since 2015 have continued to provide much-needed support to the CF unit.

The Truck Run events now also honour Linda Drennan, wife of Eugene and mother of Katie, who passed away in 2019.

Brian Cullen, Wright Insurance Brokers Associate Director, added: “We are proud to support Eugene Drennan and the Truck Run 4 Katie fundraisers each year. Our only hope at Wright Insurance Brokers is that the support provided will enable more services, a better standard of care and offer a bit of hope to Cystic Fibrosis patients.”

Echoing Brian’s sentiments, Sharyn Doyle, Wright Insurance Brokers Associate Director, added: “Giving is now such an integral part of who we are as a business and I’m delighted that we can support such a worthwhile cause.”

Pieta House in memory of Kevin O’Donovan

€1,000 was donated to Pieta House, in the name of Kevin O’Donovan, to honour his memory.

Pieta House is a charity cherished by Kevin’s family since his untimely death back in 2015, and to this day, they continue to support and fundraise for the charity.

Wright Insurance Brokers are no strangers to the amazing work that Pieta House do. As part of Aston Lark Ireland, whose chosen corporate charity is Pieta House, the team take part in all fundraising efforts to spread awareness of all the great work the charity is doing and raise funds to help them reach and support even more people.

Sharyn Doyle, Wright Insurance Brokers Associate Director, said: “We’re disappointed that we couldn’t be there in person this year to make the presentation to Pat O’Donovan, however, we are proud to offer our continued support to such a notable charity.”
